Steve Harvey has given Michael B. Jordan his stamp of approval.
The TV presenter dished on his daughter Lori’s relationship with the actor during a chat with Ellen DeGeneres on Monday, and admitted he can’t find anything to dislike about the Creed star.
During the interview, Ellen revealed that the 34-year-old actor had reached out to her earlier this year for help to surprise Lori, 24, with a horse-riding trip for her birthday.
‘I thought, “Isn’t he just the greatest?”‘ Ellen, 63, gushed.
‘You know what,’ Steve said as he shook his head, ‘I have tried not to like him. I have tried to find something wrong with him that I could dig in and go — ’cause I done got rid of all of ’em. All of ’em. Some of them snuck in the back door on me and lasted a lot longer than I wanted it to.’
‘But this guy, is such a good guy, man,’ he added of the Black Panther star.
‘He is one of the nicest guys. I’ve met his father. I’ve sat up with him, we’ve talked for hours. I just can’t find nothing wrong with him!’
The Family Feud host added that he hopes the relationship lasts because ‘this is a really, really good guy’ while adding that he wouldn’t be able to ‘whoop him.’
‘Most guys I say I can jump on ’em and take ’em out, but he just looks like a real a**-whooping in the making. So I’m just hoping they make it, you know,’ Steve joked.
Steve previously talked about his daughter’s romance in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Discussing Michael being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
‘First of all, let’s be clear about something. He is a nice guy, he is NOT the sexiest man alive to me. At all.’ he shared, before calling himself the ‘sexiest man alive.’
The TV host continued to say, ‘This kid…I like him…I’m pulling for him,’
Jimmy inquired about his thoughts on Michael renting a whole aquarium out for Lori on Valentine’s Day.
‘Yeah, well good luck homie ’cause Valentine’s come every year… I don’t know if you know how this works or not, but I don’t know how you gonna top that,’ before adding ‘good look partner.’
Putting the jokes aside for a moment, Steve said, ‘It was really nice what he did, I’m happy for him,’ and called him a ‘great guy’.
A source told People last month that the relationship has ‘gotten serious quickly,’ and Lori is ‘very happy.’
‘It’s obvious that they don’t want to be apart. When they don’t travel together, Lori spends a lot of time in Los Angeles with Michael,’ the insider shared, adding that he has ‘charmed her and is treating her like a queen.’
