Nearly a week after addressing her body shamers, Golden Globe nominee Selena Gomez shared a throwback snap of herself smirking with the caption: ‘Mood.’
The grinning outtake was from the 30-year-old ‘Texican’ pop star’s bizarre Fetish music video from 2017, which reunited her with her Spring Breakers castmate Gucci Mane.
The nightmarish domestic short was helmed by Selena’s best friend Petra Collins, whom she originally met while being photographed and interviewed for the September 2015 issue of Wonderland magazine.
‘People don’t know but my personal life ties into the work we do together,’ Gomez confessed to Dazed in 2017.
‘Because [Petra] knows things about my life that nobody knows and I know a lot about [her] life that nobody knows. It comes out, somehow.’
The Rare Beauty founder was set to star in the Canadian 30-year-old’s feature directorial debut Spiral about an influencer whose social media addiction causes her body to fall apart, but there have been no updates since 2021 on the film.
Petra scored a Grammy nod for directing Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U music video and she’s also helmed clips for Cardi B, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Lil’ Yachty.
Last Tuesday, Selena lost the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy series to Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, but she looked fabulous in a Valentino gown while attending the awards show.
That same night, Gomez and her nine-year-old half-sister Gracie Elliott Teefey jumped on Instagram Live to address body-shaming trolls.
‘I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,’ the former Disney Channel star – who has 616.1M social media followers – explained.
