Scarlett Johansson is one of the most famous actresses in the world, though she admitted she was upstaged by her own one-year-old son Cosmo on the set of Asteroid City.
The 38-year-old actress – who recently signed on to star in and produce a gender-swapped adaptation of Just Cause – and husband Colin Jost welcomed Cosmo in August 2021.
Johansson revealed to People that all anyone wanted to see on the set of her new movie Asteroid City was her newborn son.
‘I actually wasn’t popular, it was just the baby. People were excited to see the baby, not me. They’re like, “Oh, it’s you. Where’s baby?”‘ Johansson joked.
‘My family came [with me to set]. My husband and baby did because we had just had a little baby,’ she clarified.

‘Some people had partners that came up. Most people were alone, I think. A lot of people had children too, but maybe a little bit older,’ she said.
‘I just had a tiny, tiny baby,’ Johansson said, adding Cosmo was the, ‘set baby’ for Asteroid City.
Back in September on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Johansson shared the special connection between Cosmo’s name and her eight-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy, who she shares with ex Romain Dauriac.
‘They are both flowers. Not a lot of people make that connection,’ Johansson said on the show.
‘Cosmo is a really sweet little flower that comes in different shades of orange and yellow,’ she added.
‘That’s why my daughter liked it too,’ Johansson said, adding she thought the name was, ‘refreshing.’
‘It’s so charming. Our friends all liked it,’ she added of her son’s name, though her mother-in-law wasn’t immediately thrilled.
‘She kept suggesting other versions of it and I’m like, “No, he’s already here, he’s out,”‘ Johansson explained.

This comes after the actress recently admitted that her rejection for two big roles ‘was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back’ as it made her reconsider her future in the film industry.
She told Variety: ‘I got turned down for two roles – the first was Iron Man 2 and then the other one was Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, I had wanted that role so much.’
‘It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt really frustrated and hopeless. Like, “Am I doing the right job?”‘
She ultimately landed the Iron Man 2 job after Emily Blunt backed out as Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow.
