Megan Fox and Jason Statham make a hot couple in the new trailer for the upcoming The Expendables 4 movie.
Lionsgate shared the two-minute-long teaser, which also included Jason Statham, and 50 Cent, on Wednesday.
In a social media post sharing the preview, the production company wrote, ‘It’s time for some new blood. Watch the official trailer for #Expend4bles – only in theaters 9/22.’
From director Scott Waugh, a synopsis for the feature reads, ‘Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table.’
‘But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning,’ it continues.
The clip begins with Megan and Jason’s characters being introduced as a couple as the bombshell arrives home.
Jason, who plays Lee Christmas, says, ‘Welcome home, honey,’ as she walks in the door.
The two engage in a playful scuffle over classified paperwork after Megan’s character teases that her beau is not invited on her mission.
Then Barney, played by Sylvester, shows up at their home to ask Lee for help with a ‘situation.’
He quips, ‘I need better friends,’ before the scene switches to a dark warehouse where Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson is introduced.
Multiple men convene in the sprawling space, dressed in black outfits and equipped with guns.
The rapper warns the guys, ‘Remember this face. Don’t shoot it by accident,’ before they share a laugh.
More insight into the mission is given as someone reveals that a group has ‘taken possession of nuclear missiles and a cargo ship.’
The person, a man with a deep and confident voice, adds, ‘If these babies go off, it’ll be World War III.’
Fox shows off her agility as she portrays a gun-toting sniper who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.
The trailer is rife with gunfire, explosions, destruction, and passion as the ensemble puts up a fight to save the world.
Actors Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, Tony Jaa, and Iko Uwais, and Andy Garcia round out the cast.
The film is being produced by Statham, Kevin King Templeton, Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein and Jonathan Yunger.
In late 2021 Jason took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes look at the production.
On-set at an unknown location in England, the Hollywood stars beamed from ear-to-ear for a snap posted to Instagram.
Outfitted in black military ensembles, they donned onyx berets and protective vests.
‘Back in business with the main man @officialslystallone #expendables4,’ Jason wrote in his caption.
Shortly after, Sylvester shared a post of his own, posting a photo of himself upon his arrival in the United Kingdom.
‘In England to start working all the new expendables that also has the new cast members,’ he teased alongside a shot of himself posing in front of a mirrored tunnel.
Stallone starred in and directed the series’ debut in 2010, and went on to reprise his role in two sequels.
2014’s third installment saw the Expendables face a new opponent – their co-founder Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who was set on finishing the group off.
The Expendables 4 will hit theaters on September 22.
