“LeBron James’ Thrifty Habits: From Biking to Games to Ignoring Twitter Verification Fees”

LeBron James has achieved an incredible amount of success in his basketball career, including four championship wins, four MVP titles, and 19 All-Star appearances. He is also set to become the highest-paid player in NBA history, further solidifying his status as a billionaire.

LeBron James has recently signed a lucrative deal with the Lakers, worth US$97 million for two years. He will earn US$50 million in 2024-25, which is just a fraction of his off-court earnings. Despite his love for luxurious cars and homes, he is known for being frugal with his money. It’s safe to say that LeBron James is among the richest athletes of all time.

LeBron James, the talented forward of the Los Angeles Lakers, has amassed a whopping US$432 million throughout his illustrious 20-year career in the NBA. To add to his impressive earnings, he recently signed a lucrative two-year contract extension with the Lakers for an incredible US$97 million, which will see him rake in a staggering US$141 million over the next three years. This deal will firmly establish James as the highest-paid player in NBA history, with his total earnings amounting to a jaw-dropping US$532 million.

LeBron James is not just earning from his NBA salary, he is also bringing in around US$90 million annually through endorsements. According to Sportico, James topped the list of athletes in 2021 with a combined earning of US$126.9 million from both on and off-court ventures. In 2022, he ranked second, only behind Lionel Messi, with a total earning of US$121.2 million. James’ endorsements add a significant amount to his income besides his basketball career.

LeBron James, the forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, was spotted conversing with his teammates during a basketball game against the Houston Rockets in December 2021. Forbes recently reported that James has joined the elite group of billionaires, largely due to his lifetime deal with Nike and estimated earnings of over US$900 million from endorsements and other business ventures. However, despite his massive wealth, James has been transparent about his occasional frugality.

Dwyane Wade, a guard for the Miami Heat, had once jokingly referred to LeBron James, a player for the Los Angeles Lakers, as “the cheapest guy in the NBA,” despite James’ expensive tastes in cars and houses. However, billionaire investor Warren Buffet praised James for his financial savvy and maturity. Despite this, there have been instances where James has exhibited his frugal nature, such as his refusal to use his phone if it is not connected to Wi-Fi.

Back in 2010, LeBron James was spotted tinkering on one of his BlackBerry devices after a round of evening basketball games with high school players at his skills academy in Akron, Ohio. In an interview, he revealed that he wasn’t willing to turn on data roaming or purchase apps, and was still using the free version of Pandora with commercials. When Pandora caught wind of this, they offered James a complimentary premium account. On another occasion, James surprised fans by riding a bicycle to one of his games in Miami.

LeBron James was spotted engaging in some additional cardio and conditioning through his bike ride, according to a photo from Getty Images. In another news item, he made it clear that he would not be spending money to obtain a blue checkmark on Twitter. Despite the upcoming transition to a new CEO, James cited his reluctance to spend $5 as the reason his blue checkmark might disappear soon. His tweet expressing this sentiment was accompanied by a shrug emoji.

Although LeBron James is known for being smart with his money, he definitely doesn’t hold back when it comes to his extravagant mansion. However, he also generously donates significant amounts to various charitable causes. This information was sourced from www.scmp.com.
