With his nose visibly damaged, the forward was immediately sent to hospital where doctors confirmed he had suffered a broken nose.
There were initial suggestions that he would be not able to feature against Netherlands, but Deschamps has since confirmed that he could be available in time for Friday’s match.
He said: “I can confirm that Kylian Mbappe is feeling better and all is evolving well to see him available for tomorrow.
“It’s moving in the right direction.”
The former PSG striker was spotted in training with a new specially made protective mask – painted like the France flag – on Thursday.
He is set to have surgery on his broken nose after Euro 2024.
