Keanu Reeves was honored with induction into Canada’s Walk of Fаme as part of the class of 2021 on Saturday.
Reeves, aged 57, hails from Beirut but was raised in Toronto, where he initially began his acting journey through local theater productions and television appearances before venturing into Hollywood. He gained fame for his roles in blockbuster films like The Matrix and John Wick.
Although the event did not take place in Canada, it was held in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California, with Reeves accompanied by his Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss.
Described as an iconic actor, producer, and director, Reeves has entertained audiences worldwide for over three decades, as highlighted in the press release for the ceremony.
For the occasion, Reeves opted for a dapper black three-piece suit and tie ensemble, complemented by black boots.
Canada’s Walk of Fаme is revered as a symbol of Canadian excellence and achievement, welcoming ten new members this year, ranging from decorated wаr heroes to sports champions, Nobel Laureates, business magnates, and entertainment icons. The class of inductees is celebrated not only for their notable achievements but also for their philanthropy, advocacy, and contributions to societal welfare.
Among the other honorees this year are Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, Salome Bey, Jully Black, Ajay Vrimani, Bruce Cockburn, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Graham Greene, Serena Ryder, Romeo Dallaire Damian Warner, and the team of Banting, Best, Macleod, and Collip.
In addition to his induction into Canada’s Walk of Fаme, Reeves is gearing up for the highly anticipated return to the big screen as Neo in the upcoming installment of The Matrix franchise, titled The Matrix Resurrections. The film is slated for release in theaters on December 22, 2021.
