Keanu Reeves, possibly one of the most humble actors on planet Earth was once blacklisted by Fox Studios for refusing to star in a sequel to a multi-million dollar movie. Reeves was blacklisted from appearing in many movies until much later when he starred alongside Jaden Smith in The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Jaden Smith, the son of Will Smith recalled that The Matrix actor was a very cool guy and had a lot of jokes to crack. The Karate Kid actor further added that Reeves essentially made him feel welcome on the sets of the 2008 movie.
Jaden Smith Felt Keanu Reeves Was Indeed a Cool Actor
After getting blacklisted for some time by Fox Studios, Keanu Reeves opted for other projects and movies to try his hands on. Several movies like Constantine became instant hits which made the actor even more famous than his previous status.
In 2008, a sci-fi movie titled The Day the Earth Stood Still starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, and Jaden Smith was released. Although the movie was a failure at the box office, actors revealed that they had quite the time shooting behind-the-scenes of the movie. Talking about their experiences, Keanu Reeves and Jaden Smith both shared their experiences of working with each other.
In a conversation, Reeves was asked a question about his experience working with the-then young actor Jaden Smith. The Speed actor simply replied that although being a kid, Jaden Smith was a very professional person.
“He’s a good kid and he’s very professional, so I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary to bond with him just because he was a young actor.”
Jaden Smith in response, was posed the same question about his experience working with Keanu Reeves, and according to the After Earth actor, Reeves turned out to be a pretty cool actor.
“He is a really cool guy and a great actor and he is very, very funny. He always had a lot of jokes and also made me feel welcome.”
Despite being one of the nicest actors to exist ever, Keanu Reeves was blacklisted by Fox Studios for not appearing in a sequel to a multi-million dollar movie that essentially made his name more famous.
