John Wick: Chapter 4 director Chad Stahelski said in a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast that star Keanu Reeves will join part 5 of the franchise.

Showrunner Josh Horowitz pointed out the success of part 4, noting: “I’m sure the studio wants to make another John Wick movie .”

“Have you had a drink with Keanu?”, Horowitz asked Stahelski about the two discussing part 5 of the series.

“Yes, Keanu and I talked. If you asked Keanu now, ‘Would you do John Wick 5 ?’, he would say yes! But then go on to say, ‘I have no idea.’ “, Stahelski replied with a smile.

The director said there was no need to rush because they had a lot of sets, as well as some things they had to do. Stahelski said that if he comes up with an idea for a John Wick 5 movie : “Within 30 seconds, I will call Keanu and we will talk. I’m sure we will create a lot of great work.” “.

Chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Joe Drake, stated to Deadline in March 2023 that the studio is not ready for  Keanu Reeves  to leave the role of the famous action hero in the John Wick series .

Drake said: “We are not ready to say goodbye to Keanu. But replacing him in the near future is a must.”

ohn Wick movie producer Basil Iwanyk later told Deadline that Stahelski and Reeves planned to take a trip to Japan to get ideas for part 5.

“Once they get over their hangover, if Keanu and Chad figure out something good and have a way to bounce back without feeling like they’re doing bullshit, then there will be John Wick 5. The trip to Japan is like the boat found its way out of the haze,” Iwanyk told Deadline .

In the meantime, fans of the John Wick franchise can look forward to the spinoff Ballerina , in which Keanu Reeves will reappear alongside Ana de Armas.
