Selena Gomez: This generation has unrealistic beauty standards

Selena Gomez admitted that she used to be someone who chased standards, but she gave up after realizing their absurdity.

At the Time100 Summit, Selena Gomez was present and shared about her experience struggling with today’s unrealistic beauty standards.

“Personally, I feel like there’s a very unrealistic standard when it comes to the beauty world and it makes me a little sad for my generation,” Selena shared, “And for anyone who looks at something That was probably edited to look good, I just wanted to break that.”

Also during the conversation, the former Disney star explained the reason she decided to launch her own cosmetics brand even though she didn’t know anything about makeup, which is that she wanted people to no longer feel like they had to pursue a certain style. any other standards?

“I really just want makeup to be fun for everyone. I don’t believe that everyone has to look a certain way. I spent years doing it and it was draining.” . It’s a waste of time,” the singer continued talking about the unrealistic beauty standards in today’s world.
